Nicky Willemsen

Nicky Willemsen specialises in AI, IT law and intellectual property law. She is a member of the Technology & Data team, led by Reny Stark. Within her practice, Nicky advises companies on the relevant legal aspects arising from the development and protection of responsible innovation. She provides advice on the deployment of responsible AI, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including the AI Act. In addition, Nicky drafts IT contracts and assists companies in negotiating these agreements. She also regularly advises on intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on copyright protection for software.

Nicky is a member of the Dutch Association for AI and Robot Law (NVAIR) and is frequently invited to speak on AI-related topics.

Nicky obtained her Master’s degree in European Intellectual Property Law from Stockholm University. Alongside her law degree, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies. She was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2021.
