About Sander Theunissen
Sander Theunissen litigates and advises in wide-ranging areas of employment, including individual and collective dismissals. He has a particular interest and expertise in issues relating to the obligation to continue paying salary to employees absent by reason of illness and the right of privacy in employment law. Sander deals with all facets of privacy law within a working environment and is part of the Lexence privacy team.
Sander writes for the Sdu Commentaar Arbeidsrecht Thematisch (Employment Law Comments by Theme) on the topics ‘dismissals’, ‘sickness’ and ‘appointments’. He also regularly publishes in professional journals on other employment law subjects. In addition, Sander is a lecturer at Sdu (summary dismissal and privacy in employment law) and a permanent editor of Rechtspraak Arbeidsrecht (Employment Case Law Journal).
Sander has been with Lexence since 2016. He studied law at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and completed the postgraduate specialization course in employment law at Grotius Academie in 2015. He was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2010.
