Ookla acquires Allestoringen.nl

September 24, 2018 – Allestoringen.nl, the Dutch website that tracks email and internet outages under the name Downdetector, has been acquired by Ookla. Ookla is provider of a network performance monitoring service. Lexence has advised the founder of Allestoringen.nl.

On the website Allestoringen.nl users see an overview of websites and services that are temporarily unreachable. The English Downdetector offers the same information for an international audience. The websites rely partly on social media reports about disruption problems. The American company Ookla has offices in Seattle and Dublin. Ookla is responsible for, among other things, the website Speedtest, on which users can test their internet speed.
