Waterland invests in Dutch gift card provider Didix venture capital company

Waterland has acquired a majority interest in the Amsterdam-based gift card company Didix. The company initially plans to use Waterland’s investment to accelerate growth abroad.

Since it was established in 2009, Didix has become one of the most important players in the Dutch gift card market. The company sells plastic gift cards on behalf of a large number of retailers, such as Hema, Bijenkorf, Intratuin, and Karwei. Didix also issues various gift cards, including BioscoopCadeau and RestaurantCadeau. Didix wants to strengthen its position in the Netherlands and to expand its activities within Europe.
