17 December 2014

Prologis has bought a 15,000-m2 distribution center at Rutherfordweg 50 in Utrecht from Pepsico Netherlands. The building in the Lage Weide logistics park is fully leased to an international logistics service provider. According to the land registry, the sale price was 6.8 million euros.

Prologis already owns some 23,000 m2 in distribution space in Utrecht. This purchase brings the total to approximately 38,000 square meters. ‘This is an important step for us, one that is consistent with the strategy we have already started to strengthen our position in the Utrecht region. Utrecht is a multi-modal hub and a strategic location for national distribution,’ says Bram Verhoeven, country manager at Prologis Benelux.

The purchase took place on behalf of Prologis European Properties Fund ll (PEPF ll). Lexence provided Prologis with legal support. As of September 30, 2014 Prologis owned a total of just over 1.6 million square meters in logistics real estate.
