Prologis buys distribution center in Moerdijk
26 September 2012

Prologis has bought a 38,600-m2 distribution center on Orionweg in Moerdijk. The distribution center has been leased on a long-term basis to a logistics service provider which leases from Prologis at several locations in the Benelux and Europe. Prologis bought the property on behalf of its managed fund Europe Logistics Venture 1. With the purchase of this distribution center, Prologis manages a total surface area of more than 94,000 m2 in Moerdijk, spread across four locations.

Moerdijk is an important seaport that is strategically located on the Hollandsch Diep. An interesting location for Prologis because the building is near the port and the container terminal. Bram Verhoeven, vice president and market officer for Prologis Benelux: “The purchase of this distribution center conforms to our strategy and wish to invest in multimodal locations in port areas. This strengthens our position on an important logistical axis where there is a constant demand for logistics real estate”.

Prologis was advised during this purchase by Jones Lang LaSalle and Lexence.
