Prologis buys a 23,000-m2 distribution center in Utrecht
5 November 2013

On behalf of Prologis European Properties Fund II, Prologis purchased a fully rented 23,000-m2 distribution center from Pronam. It is located on Rutherfordweg in the Lage Weide industrial zone in Utrecht. According to the Land Registry Office, the selling price was €13.3 million.
Prologis believes that Utrecht DC1 is an optimum location for national distribution and e-commerce activities, with its direct connection to the A2, waterways, the railroad, and a rail/container terminal.
“Utrecht DC1 meets our criteria for acquiring strategically located properties in the Benelux”, says Bram Verhoeven, vice president of Prologis Benelux. “We continue to look for ways of strengthening our portfolio and responding to the customer’s need with our strategic acquisitions”.
Prologis, one of the biggest owners and developers of logistics real estate in the world, has a portfolio of about 1.2 million m2 of logistics and distribution space in the Benelux. Pronam is part of Vastint Holding, which in turn is part of the Inter IKEA Group. Pronam Vastint Holding is a European real estate investor/developer active in various European countries.
Pronam was advised during the sale by CBRE and Houthoff. Prologis was advised on its purchase by Lexence.
