Lexence assists Beurs Rotterdam with sale of Beurs WTC building in Rotterdam
13 January 2015

On Tuesday, December 23, 2014, Beurs Rotterdam N.V. together with its subsidiary Beurs Rotterdam Facilities B.V. concluded a contract of sale with buyers Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Office Fund and Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Retail fund, two Dutch funds based in Amsterdam.

The sale concerned the real estate of Beurs Rotterdam N.V. and its subsidiary Beurs Rotterdam Facilities B.V. The real estate comprises the entire Beurs WTC building (high-rise and low-rise) at the Beursplein - housing offices, shops, the Congress & Event Center and a parking garage - as well as the WTC-V&D parking garage on Leeuwenstraat.

The AD reported in relation to the purchase price: “for 135.6 million Bouwinvest is buying 37,000 m2 in office space, a 7,000-m2 Congress & Event center, 2,000 m2 in commercial space and 8,000 m2 in retail space.”

The sale was prompted by the municipality’s view that the public interest is no longer served by continuing its majority shareholding in Beurs Rotterdam N.V.

The buyers, Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Office Fund and Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Retail Fund, rightly referred to the Beurs-WTC as “a distinctive building".
