Loods 5 opens 18,000-m2 branch in Amersfoort

Loods 5 is expected to open a third store in Amersfoort in the spring of 2015. On Friday, March 28, The Dutch store format signed the sale contract for a building lot in Bedrijvenpark Vathorst. The store will cover 18,000 m2 spread across 150 units.
 
Loods 5 offers businesses fully facilitated, shared accommodation where they can sell diverse products in the areas of interior design and lifestyle. The company now has branches in Zaandam and Sliedrecht. Each unit represents a different importer, manufacturer, or wholesaler. Since new products are delivered every day, the collection changes weekly.
 
The new location in Bedrijvenpark Vathorst is adjacent to the A1 and close to the A28. This modern, high-quality industrial zone is currently known for its large branches of Ikea, Kees Smit and Prénatal. The new building for Loods 5 was designed by Buro Duck in Deventer and will be built by the Aan de Stegge construction company of Twello. 
 
Diederick Schnitger, commercial manager of Loods 5, commenting on the new site: “Amersfoort is centrally located for people living in Utrecht, Almere and Het Gooi, plus it’s a good connection to the eastern part of the country. We think this will be an important step in our ambition to make Loods 5 easily accessible to our customers and participants. Locations like this for large-scale retail make it possible to create a truly inspiring site”.
