Kroonenberg Groep leases 12500 M2 in The Bank
8 September 2011

Booking.com and Kroonenberg Groep concluded a multi-year lease contract for about 12,500 m2 of office space in The Bank on the Herengracht in Amsterdam. This transaction is the largest lease transaction in the past five years in the center of Amsterdam. With this transaction, most of The Bank has now been leased just six months after it opened.
Booking.com, a division of the listed company Priceline, will use the leased space as its headquarters as of January 1, 2012. In addition to the use of the main entrance, the company also has its own entrance on the Herengracht side. Booking.com employs over 3,000 staff, 850 of whom work in Amsterdam.

Starbucks recently concluded a lease contract for retail space in The Bank. Other retailers already present in this multifunctional building are Marqt, Wagamama, George Deli USA, and Ajax Experience. BNP Paribas and Guerrilla Games (a division of the Japanese Sony PlayStation) preceded Booking.com in leasing office space. Now that the contract with Booking.com has become official, only around 4,800 m2 on the second floor and around 1,400 m2 on the sixth floor of the total of 26,000 m2 of office space remains available for lease just six months after The Bank officially opened.
