Goldman Sachs and Silverfern acquire Continental Bakeries

Lexence advised the management of Continental Bakeries on the takeover (LBO) by Goldman Sachs and Silverfern of Continental Bakeries from NPM Capital. The management participated in the buying company.
Continental Bakeries employs approximately 1,700 people at twelve production locations in Europe. The most important sales markets are Germany, France, Sweden and the Benelux. Besides its own brands like Haust and Brinky, the group sells large volumes of non-perishable bakery products under the private labels of retail chains like the Albert Heijn and Jumbo supermarkets. Goldman Sachs is one of the world’s biggest investment banks and invests in capital, credit and real estate. Silverfern is also a large investment company which invests on behalf of 60 of the world’s most prosperous families.
