Michiel van Schooten specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, management buy outs and buy ins as well as structuring for all kinds of collaborative agreements. In addition, Michiel handles litigation in matters of company law and he gives advice in disputes concerning shareholders.

 

Michiel joined Lexence in 1998. Between 2008 and 2011 he was executive board member of Meritas Law Firms Worldwide. Before joining Lexence he worked for Baker & McKenzie and Houthoff Buruma (Amsterdam and London). Michiel read Dutch law at the University of Amsterdam and was admitted to the Bar in 1989.

 

Michiel is president of the Board of Directors of the Compagnie theatre and is board member of the Willem Meindert de Hoop foundation and the Remé Art foundation.
