Bas Martens

Bas Martens has extensive knowledge and experience in relation to real estate development, area development and complex (construction) disputes. In his practice, Bas has focused on social real estate and transformation issues. He often serves as a sparring partner for municipalities concerning deadlocked area developments and conflicts on land development. Bas has also repeatedly represented boards in education and healthcare in complex matters and change processes, such as the mergers of institutions, the formulation of a real estate strategy and the acquisition and disposal of education and healthcare locations. He also handles real estate dossiers with major (social) impact for leading institutions and (listed) companies.


Bas is a member of the Construction Law Association and the Society of Tenancy Law Lawyers. He is a lecturer at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, Lexlumen and the Grotius Academie and guest lecturer at SRA (the Association of Register Accountants, Accountants and Administration Consultants).


Bas has been affiliated with Lexence since 2017. He worked previously at BANNING and CMS Derks Star Busmann. He studied Dutch law at the Universiteit Maastricht and at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). Bas was sworn in as a lawyer in 1997.
