Bart Steeghs


Bart Steeghs operates on the interface between real estate law and corporate and commercial law. As a lawyer, he is involved in all facets of complex real estate projects. His clients are principals (businesses, governments and institutions), project developers, real estate investors, consultants and other professional parties in the real estate and construction sector.

He focuses on litigation before the regular courts, as well as national and international arbitration, in cases involving not only real estate and construction but also commerce and the manufacturing industry. This litigation experience certainly serves Bart well in his consulting on and drafting of contracts. He knows where the pitfalls lie and advises on a wide range of contracts for the areas of real estate development, partnerships, complex projects and domestic and international commerce. Bart also assists clients with the design, realization and maintenance of (industrial) systems and machinery.

Bart furthermore advises and provides guidance to a number of bodies (directors, shareholders, supervisory directors) in relation to the formation of companies and, for instance, disputes involving directors, shareholders and joint ventures. He has litigation experience in corporate disputes and in cases concerning directors’ and officers’ liability.


Bart joined Lexence in 2016. Prior to this, he worked as a lawyer at BANNING Advocaten. Bart studied Dutch law at the Radboud University Nijmegen and was sworn in as a lawyer in 2010.
